ACTION AND SERVICE
An important element of the International Baccalaureate mission is action and service. As students think learn and inquire they may be compelled to take action as they change as a result of learning. At Campus International, we believe this action, change and growth from learning is important and cause for celebration and action from our community members will be featured here each week.
The image to the left from MYP: From Principles to Practice, an IB publication, illustrates the interaction between, inquiry, action and reflection. In the Primary Years, we often talk about KNOW(inquiry)- CARE(reflection and caring) - DO(action. Students may take action in many ways. Action may be a change in thinking, sharing their learning, doing further inquiry, creating or some type of helping or service.
This page belongs to our community and we will always be looking for and noticing action at school- We are what we do. We would also love to hear from our families, so please let us know through a quick email to your child's teacher or Ms. ORourke, or on Twitter. Looking forward to a year full of inquiry, caring, learning and action.
ACtion at CIS
August-First graders are taking action with their learning. Their central idea is Actions have consequences and they are inquiring into the concepts of responsibility and reflection. They created a space in their classroom to communicate peacefully and solve problems. A student in Mrs. Bates' class, Make peace rocks and wish marbles to share with his class and spread joy and kindness and another first grader made a nest to help out the birds- Actions have consequences.

Get Out the Vote!
Some of our third grade citizens already know how important it is to vote- they understand rights and responsibilities. They join their parents at lunch to register voters on the Cleveland State Campus.
